Basic Grey Challenge #23

This weeks challenge is:

Challenge 23 - Colour Combo

Well its time for another challenge and this time its a colour combo, we would like you to pick one of the following colour combos for your creations (Skin and white card colours are allowed too),

Pink and Green

Pink and Brown

Blue and Brown

So what are you waiting for, pick your favorite combo and get crafting :), but of course not to forget to use at least one item from BasicGrey on your creation

I chose the Brown and Blue color combo. I found the brown/blue polka dotted paper in the Figgy Pudding Collection. I knew I wanted to start with that as my base. From there I used my Nestibilities Labels dies and the stamps are from Stampin Up, Thoughts and Prayers. I had to search high and low to for ribbon to match. When I couldnt find any, I used some wide brown grosgrain ribbon and snapped a picture of it. The ribbon just got lost because it blended in too much. So I finally got some tonight and I get to enter this challenge!!!

Thanks for the great challenges on the awesome Basic Grey Challenge Blog which can be found here: http://basicgreychallenges.blogspot.com/

Belli Challenge #56 - Monograms and/or Alphabets

Hello Friends, its Wednesday AGAIN???!!! We all know Wednesday is Belli Challenge day and today, its all about Monograms and/or Alphabets. As you can see, I went with the Monograms. I love making personalized note cards. They make great gifts. Just to keep some on hand when you want to write a quick note to someone. They make great gifts for newlyweds. The bride always trying on her new name lol.

To make my Monograms, I used a set from Just Rite Stamps. When I saw this set, I knew I had to get this immediately. It makes making any kind of Monograms easy!!! When I ordered from them, I realized they were in my own back yard. They are only a few towns over from me!!! So they didnt have to ship them far. The set I used was called the Special Occasion Monogram Stamper Kit. It gives you so many options for Monograming.
Also in making the above cards, I paired these stamps with some great Basic Grey Design papers and walllaaahhhhhhh, you have some quick & easy Monogram cards!!!

If you would like to participate in this Belli Challenge, here is what you need to do. Make your own card and/or item. Post it to your blog or SCS gallery. If you upload to SCS, please use keywords CBC55. VSN - One True Love

Here is a second card I have made for VSN. This challenge is called One True Love and we all know my FAVORITE COLOR IS CHOCOLATE. So here is the challenge:

My challenge for you is to celebrate your ONE TRUE LOVE by making a monochromatic card. Your card can use several shades of the same color, and one neutral, too.

I used a set I havent used before from Stampin Up, its called Inspired by Nature. I really love this set!!! I think I did pretty good with only being able to use browns for this card!!! I also added a tag for the sentiment. By doing this, I combined the Our Creative Corner challenge with this VSN Challenge. The OCCC challenge this week is to add a tag!!! You can find that challenge here:

http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/2009/02/occ-challenge-use-tag.html
What do you think? Let me know, leave me some love!!! Thanks for looking!!!

Recipe:

Stamps: All Stampin Up: Inspired by Nature, Fundamental Phrases, Thoughts & Prayers
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel
Cardstock: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip Designer papers
Accessories: Key Tag Punch, Corduroy Buttons, twine, polka dotted brown ribbon (from my stash, dont have a clue who made or where to get more)

VSN For the Love of Chocolate Challenge

This weekend is VSN again over at the Splitcoaststampers.com site. Challenges posted every hour on the hour until 11:00 PM tonight!!!

This is my first card I have finished. The challenge is to use Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral and Apricot Appeal in a card. I LOVE this color combo, so it wasnt too hard to do. I did go for a more simplistic view on this challenge. No designer series paper, no glitz or glam. But still very effective.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Truly Scrumptious Sketch - Card #2

Hello Friends!!! Here is the 2nd card I made for the Truly Scrumptious Sketch Challenge.

I used papers from the same collection as the first card which are from Urban Prairie but a totally different card entirely. The stamps I used are from Paper Trey Ink and this set is called Little Lady. If you look closely at the bottom layer, they have ladybugs on it, so I caught the theme from there. I used hardware from Stampin Up's Hodgepodge hardware kit and a black organdy ribbon also from Stampin Up.

Thanks for stopping by and looking!!! Stay warm because its cold outside (here anyways lol)!!!

Recipe:

Stamps: Paper Trey Ink - Little Lady, Stampin Up - Fundamental Phrases
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Grey Urban Prairie Collection
Ink: Staz-On Jet Black, Stampin Up Baja Breeze
Accessories: Stampin Up Hodgepodge Hardware, Black organdy ribbon

Its Belli Challenge Wednesday and this weeks Belli Challnge is Inchies!!! Have you heard of Inchies??? Dont be surprised if you havent. If you hang around on SCS, you may have heard of them. What Inchies refers to is your stamping space. Cut yourself a 1" square piece of cardstock and create a little inchie!!! You can put anything you like on that little one inch square. You can then make them into pins, charms, or even mount them on full size cards. That is what I did. I made 3 inchies to complete the focal point for my card.
