Basic Grey Challenge #28 - Sketch Challenge
Its Friday night at 12:41 AM and I am posting my Basic Grey Challenge!!! I think I may be the first person this week!!! I have a lot of work to get done this weekend, so I worked hard tonight to get some of my chores done but saved some energy so I could play in the NEW Basic Grey challenge this week.
I used Marrakech papers and brads. The stamped image of the elephant is also by Basic Grey to match these papers. These are BRAND NEW for me and I was excited to be using them together!!!
You can find this challenge here: BasicGrey Challenges
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog!!!

Belli Challenge #60 - Bookmarks
Hello friends, its Wednesday, so its Creative Belli Challenge day!!! This week we are taking a new look at Bookmarks!!! The Design Team has some awesome ideas for bookmarks. There are so many different kinds of bookmarks out there that are so easy to create, including mine from above!!!
I am showing you 3 different views above. The first bookmark is what the bookmark looks like when its in use. The 2nd bookmark is a photo of the full bookmark. It has a 1 1/2" flap on top to fold over your page. The 3rd photo is the view from the rear. There are 2 little magnets on the back flap and when you close it over the page, the magnets meet so it stays in place.
If you wanted to make a bookmark like mine, I started with the base cardstock that measures 7 1/2" x 2" piece. I scored the top flap down 1 1/2" down from the top. The Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper is cut 5 7/8" x 1 7/8". The circles were cut with the Mega Scallop Circle punch and the 2" circle punch. The butterfly is cut with the Nesties Butterfly die cut run thru the Cuttlebug machine. I found words that would fit across the bottom. Both are from Stampin Up sets. Cherish comes from Baroque Motifs and Priceless from from Priceless (the name of the set). I made a lacy border for the words using Stampin Up's scallop border punch and the eyelet border punch.
Please stop by the NEW Creative Belli Blog and check out ALL the awesome bookmarks the Design Team has come up with. You will be amazed!!! Then make some time to play along!!!
Thanks for stopping by blog today!!! Make it a great day.

Basic Grey Challenge #27 - Texture
I did it!!!! I finally completed a card for a challenge!!! The last 2 weeks have been rough on me. Tax season was fine up until two weeks ago. Then I was gone for an entire weekend, that didnt help either. But I am back stamping and it feels good.
I made this card for the Basic Grey challenge this week, one of my most favorite challenges!!! The challenge for this week was to create texture on your card and using at least ONE Basic Grey product. I used Basic Grey Mellow papers on this card. I love the bright colors in this collection and the base color is: Did you guess??? Chocolate!!!!
I used the flower from the Stampin Up set called True Friend and used felt flowers in place of the stamped image for the flower. I punched the ovals with the Mega Oval punch and the scalloped backing with the Giga Scallop Oval punch. The green panel was embossed with my Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots. The striped panel was embossed with the circles (dont have a clue what this embossing folder is called, sorry)!!! I then embellished the green panel with brown dew drops. The words on the ribbon were mounted on a piece of chip board covered with Mellow Juicy. The words were then stamped in Chocolate Chip onto the orange paper. The ribbon is from Stampin" Up!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!!! Make it a great week!!!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #3
Hello Friends, its been a while since my last post, I do apologize. But I am back with another Truly Scrumptious challenge for you. We have another sketch challenge for you with a twist. You must use something shiny on your creation. So here is the sketch for you to follow:
and here is my sample:
Now I used a strip of shiny purple cardstock on the bottom. Unfortunately, it is really hard to photograph. When taking this picture on the angle, that strip of cardstock looks black. When shooting the picture straight on, the only way you can tell that strip is purple, is from the the flash reflection. This card really looks much cutier in real life, I promise.
Now if you want to learn from my example, stay away from dark shiny cardstock. Maybe you can try brads or glassy glaze or what ever you may find in your stash!!!
Dont forget to check out the Truly Scrumptious Challenge Blog to see all the other beautiful creations from the rest of the Design Team!!! This sketch was designed by Beth this week.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Pink Gem Designs!!! You definately will want to check out this great website with the cutest stamps!!!

Our Color Challenge for you today is to pull out that color that you hate, and create something with it. Do you shy away from Orange (thats only Hollys worst color lol)? Do you find Gray to be boring? Is Yellow not your color? Pull out that one color and use it!
For the Belli Design Team, Chris sent us all images from new stamp sets that have just recently released from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. The very cool thing about this is, one set, His Eye on the Sparrow stamp set was drawn/designed by our very own Chris Dickinson and Easter Lily was drawn/designed by our very own Courtney Fowler!!! Creative Belli Blog
Hello Friends
I have some exciting news for you today. Our Belli Challenges will now be located on one blog: http://bellichallenge.blogspot.com/
Our very first challenge will be there tomorrow!!! Please stop by and subscribe to the blog so you can follow along with the challenges every WEDNESDAY!!!
In addition to that exciting news, we will be doing two different things -
1. Every other week, we will be having a Guest Designer...
2. We are looking for Sponsors for prizes! Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is generously offering some Digi-stamps. If you know of anyone else who would like to sponsor us one time or every 4-6 weeks, we would LOVE it!
We have a new Banner and would be SO honored if you put it on your blog! This Blinkie and Banner was designed by Dani at Dani gets Crafty! I absolutely LOVE her style - clean and simple and WOW. My mind does not go there when I stamp so I admire this style because I do not do it well. Go share some love to Dani. I think she did a beautiful job on the banner and blinkie!
Now for some of you who may be new to the Belli Blog, you may wonder what in the heck our Belli's have to do with Paper Crafting!?
What is the Belli Challenge you ask?Belli's = Embellishments. Each week, we will give you a challenge that will use things we have lying around our stamp rooms or homes! With a constant flow of new things coming out, we tend to forget about the other things we have and they quickly become clutter!
Be sure to come back on Wednesday to participate in this week's BELLI CHALLENGE! Thank you for stopping by! Have a FABULOUS DAY!
