Happy Anniversary Belli Challenge and Mojo Monday Sketch!!!

Hello! Can you believe it has been ONE YEAR of Belli Challenges already!? For those of you who may not know what a Belli Challenge is...

Each week, Chrissy gives us a challenge that will use things we have lying around our stamp rooms or homes! With a constant flow of new things coming out, we tend to forget about the other things we have and they quickly become clutter!

For the week of January 28, Belli #52, we are hosting a VERY special Belli Challenge in celebration of our One Year Anniversary. Some of you may have played this game before with some other groups...

We will be BAKING A CAKE to celebrate our First Anniversary of Belli Challenges.

How do we play BAKE A CAKE? Listed below is a list of cake ingredients. You all must pick 5 ingredients, and reply to Chrissy in her comments for this challenge with your choices, you can list them on your upload too, but don't share what the ingredients stand for, link them up here! On this second list is the corresponding crafting ingredient for the items you picked. For example, flour = ribbon (just an example - the actual list is different). Your challenge is to create a card with those 5 ingredients that you chose. You could wind up having to create a card with ribbon, chipboard, designer paper, buttons, and paint. This is the fun part. You don't know what you are picking!! Are you ready for this fun challenge?? Be sure to reply what your 5 choices are in Chrissy's comments section.

Here are the ingredients, be sure to choose 5!

Flour
Sugar
Butter
Vanilla
Eggs
Salt
Baking soda
Chocolate
Nutmeg
Milk
Cinnamon
Powdered sugar

7. Deadline for entry is Tuesday evening 7 p.m. Central time.
Last week's winner was Janette Olen- check her GORGEOUS project out HERE. I especially love the stamp set she chose ;)! Be sure to leave her some LOVE! :)

For my cake, I chose these five ingredients:

Basic Grey Challenge 19 - Recipe Challenge

Hello everyone!!! I worked on the Basic Grey Recipe Challenge today and this is how it turned out. I made this card for my first born, Kelsey, who will be turning 19 on February 7th!!! Where in the heck has all that time gone, Im not old enough to have a 19 yr old daughter lol. Ok well, I guess I am.

So the Recipe Challenge was:

For this weeks challenge we would like you to follow a recipe, you can of course add more embellishments etc to your creations but please make sure to use all of the ingredients in the recipe on your creations, and of course not forgetting to use at least one item from BasicGrey.

Ingredients:

2 Patterned papers

1 Button

1 Ribbon and Bow

3 Brads

So for the patterned papers I used 2 from the Urban Prairie Collection. I used Bountiful and Bonnet. I used a Stampin Up Baha Blue buttton laced with yellow embroidery thread tied in a bow to echo the yellow grosgrain ribbon/bow on the long panel. I used 2 pink flower brads (brand new from Stampin Up!!!) on the very top and very bottom corners. Then I used 2 gold heart brads on the other side of the long panel. So that takes card of all of my ingredients!!! This was a SUPER FUN challenge!!! I love these papers, they are soooooooo fun to play with, this card to me just oozes with Spring!!! Where oh Where is our Spring!!! Still a few months away Im afraid.

OCCC Sketch Challenge - 1/24/09

Hello friends!!! I got to stamp today with some of my new Stampin Up goodies. I made this card for Our Creative Corner's new sketch challenge that was posted today. By entering an item for this challenge, there is a chance to win a banner and a watermark. I think I need both desperately!!! lol This challenge can be found here:

http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/

So I pulled out my Raspberry Tart designer series paper and all the matching color card stocks and got to work. The bottom circle is stamped with a new stamp from the Simple Friendship set. I stamped it in Staz-On Jet Black and I also stamped it in Rose red. I cut the bottom portion of the circle out and mounted that on top of the black piece and then colored in the flowers above that. The top circle, I mounted a Nestibilities butterfly onto the circle. I punched one out in Regal Rose and then also one in Pink Pirouette and mounted that onto the Regal Rose one. The Hello stamp is from the Fundamental Phrases set. I used my brand spankin new Eyelet Border punch on Whisper White card stock in the middle.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest creations!!! Stay warm, its quite cold outside here. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #69

I want to share with you today a card I made over the weekend using the Mojo Monday Sketch #69. That sketch can be found here: http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2009/01/mojo-monday-69.html

This snowman is a Hero Arts clear stamp I picked up from Archivers a while back. I thought he was so cute. I used 2 of my favorite colors for snowmen/snow cards. Ballet Blue and Lavendar Lace. In the background, I used Stampin Up's Snowburst stamp set. The designer series paper is a retired Stampin Up paper called Four Seasons. I still have some of those fun papers around. The white snowflakes are brads I found at Hobby Lobby.

I did not have time to make anything for this weeks Belli challenge which is Ink Refills. I will be back next week with a special anniversary challenge we have planned. Please do check out all the other talented ladies on the Bellis DT!!!
All the links for their blogs is on my left hand sidebar!!!

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!!!

Basic Grey #18 - Digi Print Challenge

This afternoon I played in the Basic Grey Digi Print challenge that was posted on Saturday. I started this once and got into the challenge and when I tried to water color the image, the printer ink smeared into the color and totally messed up the image. So I thought oh well, I will sit this one out. Then I was talking to a friend and she totally jogged my memory into printing it on Vellum Cardstock and then coloring the image on the back. That way the printer ink wont smear when I color her. So thats what I did and then I mounted it onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Then the issue of attaching it is always there, so I used little red heart brads to hold the pieces together.

There is another difference I think between mine and everyone elses. Mine looks so big and the others all look smaller. I tried resizing the images but it didnt seem to work. I would have really of loved to used the Graffitti Valentines words too but could not get them to a smaller size. I didnt think I was that technically challenged with this kind of stuff, but I guess I am.

I used Basic Grey papers from the Two Scoops Collection. I love the little cherubs on this paper!!! You can find this challenge here:

http://basicgreychallenges.blogspot.com/

Thanks for stopping by and looking!!!

Nestibilities Valentines

Ever since I got my Nestibilites Hearts Die Cuts, I've been wanting to make one of these. There are 2 sets of Die Cut Hearts. One with a plain edge and another with a scalloped edge. The scalloped edge is just big enough to frame the straight edged hearts allowing you to frame each of them. So I made this card using 4 layers of hearts alternating Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouetee and framing them in Whisper White. It looks more tedious then it really is. The bigger hearts, I did have to cut each seperately but once they were small enough, I was able to cut 2 at a time.

I used the I (heart) u stamp from Stampin Up's A Happy Heart set. The white images on both sides of the heart are actually Rub-Ons. The Designer Series paper I used is from The Valentines inspired Candy Lane Designer Series paper.

The reason I made this to begin with was for the VSN Challenge that asks you to make a card inspired from your favorite holiday. Valentines Day has long been my most favorite holiday. I am a hopeless romantic plus I got to make my girls Valentines card for their school holiday parties. This is sad to say, but my girls never got to go and pick out those cheesy Valentines Days cards from the store.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

VSN Weekend - Challenge #1 - Scraplings

This weekend is VSN, Virtual Stamp Night (but really its all day). A bunch of people from around the world gather for VSN to take part in challenges issued every hour of the day (today) starting at 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The very first challege was posted last night as a warm up, but I didnt do that challenge until today which is the card above. Not your usual 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" card. The reason its called a scrapling is because its the piece left over when you take a full sheet of cardstock and cut it for a square card. So why not make it its own card??? This is my very first scrapling I made and it was quite a challenge just figuring out what will fit on a 2" wide card. You can find these challenges here:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=411763

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great day!!!

Recipe: All products are from Stampin Up

Stamps: Sweet Stems, Bella's Bloom, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss
Ink: Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Sweet Stems embossing sizzlet, Kiwi Kiss Striped Grosgrain ribbon

Belli Challenge #50 - Unused, neglected stamps

The set I chose to use is an old Stampin Up set called Love Is A Great Thing. Its copyrighted in 2000. I have always hung on to this set because I loved it, its so pretty and Victorian looking. All elements of my card are from Stampin Up except for the red heart brads!!! Of course, I used my most favorite colors of the year. Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red. The pink paper is from Bella Rose Designer Series paper. I have always loved to make Valentines Day cards. Valentines Day is my most favorite holiday. I was always the one hanging all the paper hearts around the house lol.

If you would like to participate in this Belli Challenge, here is what you need to do. Make your own card and/or item. Post it to your blog or SCS gallery. If you upload to SCS, please use keywords CBC49. My nephew is Turning 21!!!

Good morning friends!!! I dont think my 21 yr old newphew reads my blog, so Im pretty sure I can post his card here without him seeing it. I made this card over the weekend for his 21st birthday. I can not believe he is that old already. When he was born, he was just over 2 lbs and now he is close to 6' tall. Happy Birthday Kyle!!!

I made this card with 2 challenges in mind. I used the OCCC's color challenge that they have this week. That challenge can be found here:

http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/2009/01/occ-color-challenge.html

Then I also used the sketch challenge found over on Mojo Monday which can be found here:

http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2009/01/mojo-monday-68-contest.html

I very much enjoyed this sketch and will have to remember it when I am stuck and needing an awesome sketch.

For this card, all my products are from Stampin Up!!! I used last years In-Colors Blue Bayou and Soft Sky. I used last years Spring Break Designer Series paper, which I think suits Kyle well. The stamps I used are So Cool, which will be retiring on January 19th, and Typeset Numbers and Birthday Greetings. Those awesome star brads are in this catalog and I just got them in my hands a week ago, I just love those things.

Make it a great day and thanks for visiting my blog!!!

Basic Grey Chipboard challenge #17

This weeks Basic Grey challenge is to use chipboard, any chipboard. This week I used the Infuse collection of papers. The top piece of my sketch is actually a piece of chipboard with the 4 circles taken out of it. I thought that would make perfect windows for my Buzzin Around bees. They actually fit perfectly.

I mounted a piece of Infuse Lace paper on top of the chipboard. Then with an exacto knife, I made X'x in the circles of the paper. Then also with the exacto knife, I cut out the circles from the holes. Then with a round file, I filed down all the rough edges. I stamped my bees and flower in Jet Black ink by Staz-On onto Whisper White cardstock. I watercolored the bees with Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss and the flower in Regal Rose. I then taped them to the windows of the chipboard. I mounted that piece onto Garden Green cardstock leaving that piece a bit longer to put the words underneath the focal point. My base card is 5 1/4" square of Chocolate Chip with Regal Rose and then a piece of Infuse Breathe. All stamps are by Stampin Up!!! Then to finish the card, I used a piece of pink organza ribbon on top.

You can find the challenge here: http://basicgreychallenges.blogspot.com/

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Belli Challenge #49 - New Uninked Stamps and/or Time Theme

Hello all!!! I feel like Mr Rogers every Wednesday because I always say, Its Wednesday and we all know what that means!!! Its Belli Challenge day AGAIN!!! But fear not, I havent donned my goloshes and my old sweater from the closet just yet. I been stamping tho!!! Using some of my brand new stamps to create this card above!!! This stamp set is Brand New from Stampin Up and its called Just Buzzin' By. It will be in the new catalog coming out January 19th. I really had a hard time with this stamp set at first. I think you just need to find the right sketch to work with and then it all falls into place.

I used the weekly sketch from over at CPS's site. Sweet n Sassy Stamps are sponsoring this weeks sketch design so I combined my 2 challenges. Belli Challenge and CPS sketch challenge!!!
You can find that sketch challenge here: http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ For Sweet 'n Sassy Blog candy here: http://sweetnsassystamps.blogspot.com/2009/01/monday-dt-challenge-8.html

As for the papers and ink I used, they are all Stampin Up products. I used only Basic Black ink on this card. As for the papers, I started with Tangerine Tango, Hawaiian Papaya Designer Series paper, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, and Apricot Appeal. Now for people who are like me and missed the day in Kindergarten when they taught us all how to color, the way around that is to stamp the image in black directly onto the colored paper that you would have colored it. Someone told me who saw this set, Oh I cant buy that set, I would have to color it. Well, this is how I find my way around the coloring part. Plus to make it even more interesting, I made the Bee Hive POP out by making layers of it and mounting them on pop dots. The three little bees in this set were so cute, I HAD to buy the set lol.

If you would like to participate in this Belli Challenge, here is what you need to do. Make your own card and/or item. Post it to your blog or SCS gallery. If you upload to SCS, please use keywords CBC49. Then head on over to Chrissy D's blog, which can be found here: http://www.chrissyd723.blogspot.com/Post a link to your item in the comments area for Belli Challenge #49. Basic Grey Challenge #16

Today I wanted to share with you a card I made Sunday night. I was Blog Hopping (one of my most favorite past times) and found this site that hosts Basic Grey Challenges each week. Boy the wheels in my head started to spin a little bit faster!!! If you know me personally, you would know I am a Stampin Up demonstrator and have been for over 10 yrs now. I love Stampin Up, thats why I have been a demonstrator for so long. But, even if you do know me, you may NOT know that I am a closet Basic Grey Lover. Oh my, I said it out loud!!!! The colors and patterns are just sooooooo beautiful, its hard to resist.

So the 1st challenge in 2009 from this site is a sketch challenge. You can find the site/challenge here: http://basicgreychallenges.blogspot.com/ The only requirements to enter are to use at least ONE Basic Grey product. Well that wasnt hard to do. I have 5 paper collection packages and rarely use them. I guess that would be considered a horder of the goods!! So with these challenges, I can test my skills with the new goods and use up some of the stash I have here.

This card I made above, I used Basic Grey's Blush collection which is one of my most favorite paper collections because it has the pinks and reds with the browns that I just love. I did use Stampin Up's Love You Much stamp set. This is a brand new Valentines set that will be out in the new catalog on January 19th. So consider this my first try on the challenges and you will be seeing more of these!! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy them!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Featured Stamper Challenge combined with SNSS Color Challenge

This card I made today, combined 2 challenges to get the end result. Sundays over on SCS, the daily challenge is the Featured Stamper Challenge. They pick one persons gallery as the Featured Stamper and your challenge is to find a card from that gallery and CASE (Copy and Share Everything) it. You need to change at LEAST 2 things to make it your own. So the Featured stamper today is Julie Ebersole, JulieHRR is her SCS name. The HRR stands for Her Royal Rubberness!!! So here is the link to the card I picked from her gallery:
Here are the things I changed: The colors, the stamps, I added the Top Note Die Cut underneath the focal point and I added a ribbon. For the scroll piece, I used rub-ons since I didnt have any scroll pieces. Plus I added a ribbon.
What a fun challenge that is!!!
I also incorporated a color challenge from Sweet n Sassy Stamps Release party challenges. Sarah picked these colors for that challenge: Pink, Red, Black, White and Grey. It was tough getting the grey in there for me. So I punched a small flower to put on top of the flower piece and I dyed my white taffeta ribbon to grey and added that element. The designer series paper I used was from Raspberry Tart. Such a wide variety in this NEW paper pack. Some of it reminds me of the patterns from Very Bradley!!!
Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!!!

Snowflakes & Basic Grey

Today I am sharing with you a card I just made for Sweet N Sassys Stamps release party they had last night. This card is for the Sketch Challenge that Courtney challenged us with!!! Great sketch Courtney!!!

This is kind of surprising for me, but there is no Stampin Up on this card other then the cardstock. I have 2 friends who are, in their words, ruining me!! lol The cardstock I did use is Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgandy. The designer paper is Basic Grey's Wassail paper and you guessed it, Im in LOVE YET AGAIN!!! The snowflake and word stamps are stamps that my girlfriend over at Chrissy D's blog drew herself and made into Sweet n Sassy Stamps!!! That is just so cool to me!!! Great job on the stamps Chrissy D!!! The border of snowflakes is also by Basic Grey. That was included with the paper pack and its a sticker. It fit well into this sketch, otherwise, Im sure I would have used a ribbon. I stamped the snowflake in Bravo Burgandy ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle punch and mounted that onto a scallop circle punched out in Always Artichoke. Pretty quick and easy but effective I think. I hope you think so too!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Chocolate Hearts?

I just wanted to share with you today a medallion that I made Sunday. The medallion piece is actually made with Stampin Up's Border Scallop punch. I saw these beautiful medallion pieces over on Joans fabulous site, you can see them here. She made hers for Christmas, naturally, but since Christmas is now OVER!!! (YAY), I adapted mine for Valentines Day.

This gorgeous heart is from one of Stampin Up's NEW Level 2 Hostess sets that will be coming out on January 19th. It is called A Little Somethin'. And if I guess correctly, I BELIEVE there will be a new HEART punch that will be coming out also that will punch this heart out for us instead of having to cut it out by hand. (This is only my OPINION and NOT fact yet)!!!

There is a very easy tutorial over on Taylor's blog that tells you step by step instructions on how to make these little pieces. You can find that tutorial over here. So I made the red piece with Riding Hood Red cardstock and then the smaller piece from Pink Pirouette cardstock. I stamped the heart in Chocolate Chip, cut it out and covered it with glitter. I then mounted that onto the medallion. I then finished off the corners with the half pearls from the Pretties Kit and added the white dots with the gel pen.

Total time to make this: 15 minutes!!! Quick & Easy

Have a great day all!!!
