Belli Challenge #48 - Lets Get This Party Started!!!

It's Wednesday and we all know what that means!!!! Its Belli Challenge Wednesday!!! Our theme this week is anything to do with a party!!!! We all have parties to go to for the New Year, right??
Well successful parties are based on the Invitations!!!
Are you wondering where this beautiful paper has come from??? It is a sneak peek for Stampin Up's new catalog that will be out January 19th. It is called Raspberry Tart. When I received this paper, my only thought was WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??? LOL Then when you actually play with it and use it with complimentary colors, walahhhhhh, you got yourself a beautiful creation. I also used my NEW Nestibilities Labels die cuts. How fun are these? I used them in MY new technique called Stacked Nesties!!! What a great way to build depth into your card and/or creation. I did use a retired Sale-A-Bration set from last year that I still just love. It is called Lots of Thoughts. The flowers are from Prima and I used Stampin Up's filigree brads on top of the flowers all held together with a bling brad. Also on the corners that will open, I used the flat pearls from the Pretties Kit.
I used SCS Technique Lovers Challenge for the creative folds I have going on here. Every Monday over there, they try a new technique challenge. This weeks is called the Fun Funky Fold challenge. You can find that challenge here if you would like to check it out and make one for yourself. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=406759
If you would like to participate in this Belli Challenge, here is what you need to do. Make your own card and/or item. Post it to your blog or SCS gallery. If you upload to SCS, please use keywords CBC48. Then head on over to Chrissy D's blog, which can be found here: http://www.chrissyd723.blogspot.com/Post a link to your item in the comments area for Belli Challenge #48. You will then be entered to win a prize that she has determined. Dont forget to check out all of the other Design Team members blogs for some AWESOME INSPIRATION!!!! The Design Team blogs can be found on the left hand side of my blog Labeled: Belli Challenge Design Team!!! Also by clicking on the Belli Challenge Blinkie, that will take you directly to Chrissy D's blog also.
Have fun, cant wait to see all your wonderful creations!!! Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!!!

Love You Much Sample

I was able to stamp today in between all the running around I did. I made this card using all 3 pieces from the Valentines Bundle. This is a new promotion Stampin Up has running now. You can read about all the details here:
There are 3 pieces that are in this Valentines Bundle. All 3 pieces will be new in the new catalog due out on January 19th. The stamp set is called Love You Much and contains 6 stamps, Candy Cane Designer Series paper and a 3 heart punch that matches one of the stamps in the set. This Bundle is available until January 31st. By ordering it in this bundle you will save 20% as opposed to ordering all 3 pieces from the catalog.
Directly from the Home Office, here is the lastest update about this bundle:

Our Love You Much Promotion has gotten off to a great start. Just during our demonstrator preorder, we sold over 9,000 bundles! A strong preorder usually signals a strong customer sales period, so we're excited to see what the next few weeks bring for you and your events. Unfortunately, we have temporarily run out of the Candy Lane Designer Series paper, which is included in the Love You Much Bundle. Our paper vendor has committed to have more in our warehouse by Monday, December 29.
In the meantime, the bundle will be temporarily unavailable in Online Ordering; however, you may still order the item through OEX. We apologize for this delay.
If you are interested in ordering a bundle, please email me at bsktnstamp@gmail.com.
I hope to be posting more samples with this set and a few other sets that we were able to pre-order.
Have a great day and a Very Happy New Year!!!!!

Belli Challenge Re-Visited - Scallops

This week we are taking a look back at all the Belli Challenges we have had over the past 11 months and we are Re-Visiting them from our choosing. I chose Scallops. What a great challenge, I am in love (yep, again) with scallops. I use them in many of my cards and projects.

Elmo is the man of the hour!!!! This is Scallop project # 2. You may all remember Scallop project #1 (see below). My card with 4 of the Sesame Street Muppets. Well my boss bought that card to give to her grand daughter who turned 2 in December. Well people who were at that party saw that card and wanted one for their child. So we went with just Elmo. I think he turned out so cute!!!

For Elmos face, I used Stampin Up's Big Shot Die with the 2 scallops on the die. I used the bigger one from that die. I cut him out in Real Red and mounted him on Yo Yo Yellow cardstock. I then just used the 1 3/4" circle punch and cut that in half for his mouth. The eyes and nose were also different size circle punches. Both of the sentiments come from retired Stampin Up sets. I actually used a Red crayon to spell Elmo's name with. This card is quick and easy and great to keep on hand for that young neice or nephew.

If you would like to participate in this Belli Challenge, here is what you need to do. Make your own card and/or item. Post it to your blog or SCS gallery. If you upload to SCS, please use keywords CBC47. Then head on over to Chrissy D's blog, which can be found here: http://www.chrissyd723.blogspot.com/
Post a link to your item in the comments area for Belli Challenge #47. You will then be entered to win a prize that she has determined. A Collection of Stars!!!!

I just wanted to share with you today a collection of 5 pointed stars I made to attach to some Christmas presents for my siblings. I used Stampin Up's Big Shot die cut. It is sooooooooooo easy to use and make these stars. I whipped up 4 of them in about an hour. The designer papers I used for them are Stampin Up's Ski Slope, Stampin Up's Holiday Treasures, Stampin Up's Dashing (retired), Basic Grey Wassail and Basic Grey Figgy Pudding. I love how these turned out. Then I punched a small hole in the top and used the gold elastic cord so they could be hung. Short and Sweet!!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Belli Challenge #46 - Wrapping Paper

Here is a card I made for Belli Challenge #46, Wrapping Paper. What better way to match a card to a gift you are giving by using the wrapping paper on your card???!!! So I just dressed up my card to make it look like a gift!!! I used Stampin Up's Shimmery cardstock for the base of this card. Then a layer of Stampin Up's Brushed Silver Metallics cardstock. The next layer is my wrapping paper. I used a sheer organdy vanilla ribbon to wrap around the card. I stamped the Do Not Open til Dec 25th, from Winter Post in the Stampin Up's Holiday Mini catalog, in Encore's Gold Metallic ink and punched it out with the Designer Series label punch and framed it with a Silver Hodge Pode Hardware frame. I stamped the words from To You & Yours in the Encore's Silver Metallic ink and punched that with the large oval punch and mounted that on the Brushed Gold Metallic cardstock punch with the Wide Oval punch. I tied the words on with the Gold Elastic Cord.
What is the Belli Challenge you ask? Each week, my great friend, Chrissy D gives us a challenge that will use things we have lying around our stamp rooms! With a constant flow of new things coming out, we tend to forget about the other things I have and they quickly become clutter!
If you would like to participate in this Belli Challenge, here is what you need to do. Make your own card and/or item. Post it to your blog or SCS gallery. If you upload to SCS, please use keywords CBC46. Then head on over to Chrissy D's blog, which can be found here: http://www.chrissyd723.blogspot.com/

The Kiwi Satin ribbon is just lucisous to work with, a great bow and/or knot everytime!!!

Belli Challenge #45 - Christmas Themed!!!

Well here is my Christmas themed card I made. I seen a card like this recently on someones blog and just had to try one for myself. I have been having such stampers block, I chose the easy colors. Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip. You could stamp ANYTHING in these colors and it will still look fabulous. I chose A Wish for Peace stamp set from Stampin Up. You do need the Big Shot with the Top Note Die Cut for the shape. Im not real good at cutting stuff out, but I did do just that to make the Very Vanilla piece smaller then the Riding Hood Red piece. I just used my Snips to cut around the perforated part. I also chose to cut the dove out to give it that really flying feel lol.
The Chocolate Chip designer paper is from Ski Slope, one of my other favorites. As you can see, if you just glue the top parts together, you can get that extra flap in there for your greeting and post a picture of the family on the inside bigger part.

Belli Challenge #44 - Cracked Glass

Hello All, its been way too long since I have updated my blog, my apologies!!! I have not really stamped much of anything, so I have not posted. But its Wednesday today, so we know its Belli Challenge Day. Todays challenge is to use the cracked glass technique. I really enjoyed this technique, it makes any image look vintage!!!

I used the image from Stampin Up's Sleigh Bells Ring and I stamped it in Chocolate Chip ink. Is there any other color??? lol We all know its my favorite!!! I used Ski Slope Designer Series paper and mounted that on Chocolate Chip cardstock. There is a great tutorial over on Splitcoaststampers site for the very easy technique. You can find that technique here, so you can all try it and particiapate in this challenge also.

The Dark Side of the Moon - Another VSN Challenge

Do you remember this album cover??? If you do, you know its Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moom album cover. I made this card for another VSN challenge. There is actually no stamping involved on this card. The challenge called I wanna be a Rock Star was to: Be inspired by an album cover, CD cover or your favorite rock stars! Some of these are REAL works of ART! One of my favorite songs is “Rock Star” by Nickelback. (It’s actually the ringtone on my cell phone!)
I have always loved this image that I grew up with. I think it turned out pretty cool. So I just wanted to share!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Its VSN time over at SCS!!!

Here is the first card I made for VSN!!! The theme for this VSN is WELCOME TO THE CABARET. So all of the challenges will be related to the Cabaret. The first challenge I took was called A Chorus Line. The actual challenge is this: In honor of this spectacular musical number, my challenge is for you to make a card using a line of identical images – use at least three. The rest of the card is up to you! Use any colors, embellishments, or ribbons you like. Have fun!

For this card, I used the Stampin Up set called Say It With Scallops. I paired that with the Bella Rose designer series paper. The size of the card is 9 1/4" x 4". This card will fit in a business size envelope.

Thanks for stopping by and looking!!!

Belli Challenge #42 - Gift Tags

Good Wednesday morning!!! Its Wednesday and we all know this is Belli Challenge Day. This weeks Belli Challenge is Gift Tags!!! I have found I really LOVE to make gift tags. I really enjoyed this challenge.
Gifts tags can be as simple as you would like, to the more elaborate. Its just depends, Im sure, as to how much time you have and are willing to put into your gift tags. I have made a few different sets of gift tags to share with you today. I used some of my most favorite sets and I found, there are A LOT of sets that can be used as GREAT gift tag makers. I start off with my most basic tags and then more forward to the more elaborate. I also tried something I have been wanting to do and try and that is to move away from the most standard traditional colors for cards/tags to show you, it doesnt always have to be pink or blue for baby tags or red and green for christmas tags. My goal for these tags was to use the In-Colors from Stampin Up and always use my MOST favorite color, Chocolate Chip with them. I didnt finish with ALL of the In-Colors, but as I do, I will share them here with you. The majority of my gift cards are 3 x 3 in size. Just as long as you have some small envelopes (from Stampin Up's big catalog) laying around, you can make a 3 x 3 gift card anytime and with any color.
The first set of tags were made with Pacific Pointe and Chocolate Chip and the stamps from To You and Yours (my most favorite stamp set in the catalog!!!). Very basic, stamp and go.
The second set also uses Pacific Pointe and Chocolate Chip and the stamps are from Deer Friends. As you can see, still very basic, I just added Cuttlebug Embossing onto the top layer instead of using designer series paper. Still very cute and effective.
The next 3 pictures are made with Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss. The stamps I used were Punches Three with is a Level Two Hostess set. This stamp set was designed to work with the Scalloped Square punch and the Wide Oval punch. I love using punches in my art work and this is a great example of the punches and stamps that work great together.
The Scalloped gift tags are a more elaborate gift tag that I just had so much fun making. It is made with punches also. I used Bella's Bloom stamp set with these and designer paper from Bella Rose and a retired paper called East Coast Prep. I found a tutorial for the scalloped gift cards on Andrea Walfords blog. She is just an awesome lady with great tutorials. The tutorial can be found here: http://andreawalford.com/?p=594 . These scalloped gift cards also fit into the small envelopes used for the 3 x 3 gift cards.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look today. If you would like to participate in this Belli Challenge, here is what you need to do. Make your own gift card and or/tag. Post it to your blog or SCS gallery. Then head on over to Chrissy D's blog, which can be found here: http://www.chrissyd723.blogspot.com/ Leave a comment on her Belli Challenge #42 post and the link to your creation. You will then be entered to win a prize that she has determined. Dont forget to check out all of the other Design Team members blogs for some AWESOME INSPIRATION!!!! SCS Color Challenge #191

Here is the card I made for this weeks Color Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.com. They called it Pretty Red Kisses. That stands for Pretty in Pink (I used Pink Pirouette in its place) Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. The designer paper is from the Bella Rose Collection. I just love that paper and Im also in love with Polka Dots lately, but dont tell Chocolate Chip, he may be a bit jealous if he knows Im in love with something else too. The base scalloped circle is the Big Shot Die Cut and then I used my circle punches and my Coluzzle for all the other layers. Thanks for stopping by and looking!!!! Leave a comment if you like it and make my day!!!

Lisa & I

I just wanted to share this picture of Lisa and I. Lisa has her pictures on her computer and uses them as her screen saver. I saw this and said, omg why have you not shared this with me? I love it!!! It looks like we are having fun (and we really were)!!! This picture was actually taken in the Biltmore Gardens on the Biltmore Estates in North Carolina in June of this year. Just a beautiful place to visit. It was really warm that day too. Gonna have to scrap this one soon!!

Belli Challenge #41 Thanksgiving/Christmas Table Decorations

Today is Wednesday and we all know that is Belli Challenge Day!!! The Challenge this week is to make any type of table decorations for a Thankgiving day or Christmas table top. I made a votive cover for a Christmas table. I used Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Cardstock Vellum and Basic Gray's Figgy Pudding papers. I used 12 x 12 Riding Hood Red paper and cut 2 strips at 3 1/4" x 12". I then scored at 3", 6" and 9". The middle fold should be a Mountain fold and the other 2 should be valley folds. Mountain = Stands Up, Valley Fold = fold away I used the 1 3/4" circle punch on the Riding Hood Red cardstock. Then layered a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock on the inside and punched it with the 1 3/8" circle punch. I then stamped the deer from Winter Post in Chocolate Chip ink onto the cardstock Vellum. I then punch the deer out with the 1 3/4" circle punch and layered in on the inside of the window. On the outside panels, I layered Baja Breeze cardstock cut to 3" x 2 7/8" and then Basic Grays Figgy Pudding Trees cut to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4". I then stacked Stampin Up's Felt Snowflakes and attached with a Blue Bling Brad. The words I stamped in Chocolate Chip are from Stampin Ups To You and Yours stamp set. I then taped together only the 2 outside panels.
Please stop by the other Belli Design Team's blogs for more inspiration. The Belli Design Team's Blog list is on the left hand side of my blog underneath The Belli Challenge Blinkie!!! To play along, all you need to do is make your item, post it to your blog or SCS gallery. Go to Chrissy D's blog and post the link to your item in her comments area for Belli Challenge #41. Chris's blog can be found here: http://chrissyd723.blogspot.com/ or just click on the Blinkie Banner!!! Please mention the challenge in your description. You will then be entered in the drawing to win a package of Designer Series Paper.

Beate's WSC #64

I knew I wanted to take part in Beate's Weekend sketch sometime this weekend, so I finished just in time. Sunday evening at 11:00. Whewwwwww. What a great challenge this was lol.
I used one of my most favorite color combos and my MOST FAVORITE set in Stampin Up's big catalog, From Our House to Yours.

I started with Chocolate Chip cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 11". Then a piece of designer series paper from Ski Slope cut to 5 1/4" x 4". Then a Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Whisper White all layered 1/4" less for each layer. For the scallops, I used a piece of Riding Hood Red cut to 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" for each end. I did the Grid Technique on the top piece of Whisper White and then stamped snowflakes from Snow Burst in Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze. I used Riding Hood Red grosgrain ribbon to attach my circle piece too. I stamped the house from SU set From Our House to Yours on a piece of Whisper White c/s and then mounted that on Chocolate Chip c/s. I used the Linen thread to tye it to the ribbon. Then I stamped the words in Chocolate Chip onto Riding Hood Red and punched out with the Large Oval punch.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

It's All about the hat!!!

Well, I finally did it!!!! I scrapbooked today!!! I have been wanting to scrap this picture for Halloween, so I finally did it today!!! This is one of my most favorite pictures of Kelsey as a baby. I always liked to sit them on the bathroom vanity with their feet in the sink and let them see themselves in the mirror. So one day, pulling out the Halloween decorations, Kelsey found this hat. So I put it on her and took her to see herself in the mirror. She thought she was a princess with it on, she loved it!!!
These are 6 x 6 pages and everything I wanted on the one page didnt fit, so I made it into a 2 page layout which turns out nice anyways. The witch I used if from Tag Time, a retired Stampin Up set and I just love her!!! Had to fit that into the layout!!! The circles that spell out Kelsey are Halloween brads I bought in the $1.00 bin at Archivers. Didnt know why I bought them, but they sure came in handy today!!! The other words are from a Cuttlebug Alphabet Set I have. The font name is Olivia. When I bought those, I too didnt know when I would use them, but they also came in handy today!!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!!! Make it a great day!!!

Happy Halloween to all my Friends!!!! I wanted to share with you these cute little designer bags I made for my co-workers. I made them with the Ghostly Greetings designer series paper from Stampin Up's Big Catalog. You start these by making a box for the bottom and then add the paper around it. I used a tutorial from Cambria Turnbows site to make these. You can find that tutorial here: http://cambriaturnbow.blogspot.com/2008/07/designer-bags.html They are easy when you follow her instructions.
These would be soooooo cute for Holiday Treat favors or teacher gifts, baby shower favors. Think of the possibilities!!!

SC200 - Sketch Challenge

Good morning!!! I was able to take part in yesterdays sketch challenge over at SCS. I did the first card in the morning and posted to my gallery. Then I started looking at everyone elses and thought, well mine is really plain. What can I do to step up the card a bit. So last night, I sat down to make another one. Now I added an extra layer of baja breeze under the Designer paper. Then I also added layers under each of the images. I think this makes them POP more. I also added a piece of baja breeze under the ribbon. I think that gives it more depth. I like the 2nd one better. What do you think? I would love to her your comments, please leave me one??!!
Have a great day!!!

Belli Challenge #40 - Anything Thanksgiving

Good Wednesday morning!!! Its that time again, Belli Challenge time!!! Our theme this week is ANYTHING Thanksgiving. I used an old (retired) set of Stampin Up's. Its called a Grateful Heart. I stamped the main image in Black pigment ink onto vellum and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I colored the image on the backside of the vellum. I used Always Artichoke on the artichoke, Certainly Celery on the asparagus and Elegant Eggplant on the grapes. Let that dry and then mount that on a neutral cardstock. I mounted mine on Whisper White cardstock. The Happy Thanksgiving (A Stamp in the Hand) was stamped in Elegant Eggplant on to the So Saffron cardstock. This was another OLD stamp I had laying around. I also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on only 2/3 of the So Saffron cardstock. The folder I used was Diamonds in the Rough. Then I used 2 Old Olive brads on either side of the words.
The technique I used on the main image is called Stained Glass Technique and you can follow the tutorial I did on the SCS site. Here is the link to that: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/stainedglass1

As for the Belli Challenge, here is what you need to do to play along. Make anything relating to Thanksgiving. Post you item to your blog or in your SCS gallery. If you do post to SCS galleries, please use keywords CBC40. Leave a message over at Chrissy D's blog with the link to you item. Heres the link to her site: http://www.chrissyd723.blogspot.com/ You will then be entered to win a pack of Designer Series paper. Also dont forget to check out the other Design Teams blogs. Merry Christmas, a bit early!!!

Here is another Christmas card I was playing around with. I seen a card like this on SCS and just had to try my own. My card base is Riding Hood Red cut at 5 1/4". I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. I layered the Holiday Treasures striped designer series paper on a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock cut to 5" square. I made the envelope flap from the Small Pennant Banner Big Shot Die cut. I made the base from Chocolate Chip cardstock and the Pointsetta ds paper to layer on top. The "Do Not Open Until Dec 25" is stamped in Riding Hood Red and is from the Winter Post set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I just LOVE this set. I stamped the "Merry Christmas" also in Riding Hood Red and that stamp is from Christmas Classics from the Big Catalog. The challenge I made this card for was to make a card with a minimum of 5 layers. I made this card for a SCS challenge called VSN Mini which is for Virtual Stamp Night. The Mini means its a warm up challenge for the Main Event that will be held on November 14 & 15th. Virtual Stamp Night is challenges posted every hour on Friday night and Saturday. All of the challenges revolve around a theme. This upcoming VSN's theme is the CABARET. You can find all about VSN by clicking here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387940 Thanks for stopping by!!!

Beates Weekend Sketch #63

I finally got Beates Weekend sketch done at 10:00 Sunday evening. This one was really challenging for me. I struggled with this sketch, but I made myself push on and this is what I came up with. I used A Happy Heart set which in in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I also wanted to do a Monochromatic card with Tangerine Tango. I think that made this sketch harder for me.
If you look closely on the orange strip, it is embossed with a Cuttlebug border embossing folding and it says With Love. I knew I wanted to incorporate that into this sketch with this theme.
You can find Beate's sketch challenge here: http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/10/24/weekend-sketch-challenge-63/#comments

I was inspired by the entire gallery for this set. I looked at all of them and then created my own card. I really love how it turned out!!!
I borrowed my neighbors set to make this and I havent given it back yet. I need to stamp a bunch more images to have these cards on hand.

Thanks for stopping by and looking!!! Have a great day!!! Its raining here :(, but at least its Friday!!!

Another Christmas Card

Here is a Christmas card I made a while ago and never posted. Its made using the SU set called A Wish for Peace. I really love this set, its right up my alley. I also used the Holiday Treasures Designer series paper from the current catalog. I really love this ribbon from the Ribbon Orignals that is in the Holiday Mini. I pulled the colors from that ribbon and from the ds paper.
I used this layout for this card because I am a big fan of the of the contrasting designer paper.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Create ANY kind of project using something with a pearl! Here is what you need to do. Make a completed project embellishing your work with your PEARLS. When you post to Splitcoaststampers or to your Blog, be sure and put CBC39 as the KEYWORD and mention of the challenge - with a link! I used my BEAUTIFUL Santa stamp for this challenge. He is made by RUBBER STAMPED.
All other cardstock/paper, embellishments are from STAMPIN UP. I used the colors from the Ski Slope designer series paper which I LOVE so much. I used the Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder on the Real Red Layer and also on the blue ds paper. To keep in mind to use pearls, I used a stick pin from the Pretties Kit and loaded it up with Pearls and beads. I hope you like it!!!

A Perfect Fall Day

I just wanted to share with you this random picture I took on my Girlfriends Weekend Away where we went to the Annual Bridge Festival in Parke County Indiana. I believe this was our 8th year of attending. We always have a blast. We do things we never get to do in our daily lives because we are too busy taking care of our families. So needless to say, we never cook, we eat out most of our meals except breakfast. We always try and see at least one movie, this year we saw 2. We saw Lakeview Terrace which I thought was okay. Samual L Jackson places one bad menacing neighbor. Then we also saw Nights in Rodanthe. I liked this one much better, altho I cried. Plus we SHOP, SHOP and more SHOP. Needless to say, we have fun and hate coming back to reality.

This picture was taken in downtown Rockville Indiana. We were standing in the middle of the festival watching the Quilt Auction. This old court house is the center of town and this festival. Well the clock rang at 12:00 Noon. So I looked up at the clock and the sky was that beautiful azure blue and the white clock tower was such a beautiful contrast. I had to take the picture. Looking back at this picture, I have to say it was one of the BEAUTIFUL Fall days.

Welcome to my new blog!!!

Hello All

This will be my new home for my blog. The other one was very frustrating to work with and very very very slow. I will leave a forwarding note at the old one directing everyone over here.

Today I was stamping for World Card Making Day!!! Here is the first challenge I entered which was a sketch challenge. I used one of my OLD Halloween sets called Tricky Treats. The borders I found at Archivers and was so glad I got to play with them today!!!
