The Dark Side of the Moon - Another VSN Challenge

Do you remember this album cover??? If you do, you know its Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moom album cover. I made this card for another VSN challenge. There is actually no stamping involved on this card. The challenge called I wanna be a Rock Star was to: Be inspired by an album cover, CD cover or your favorite rock stars! Some of these are REAL works of ART! One of my favorite songs is “Rock Star” by Nickelback. (It’s actually the ringtone on my cell phone!)
I have always loved this image that I grew up with. I think it turned out pretty cool. So I just wanted to share!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Its VSN time over at SCS!!!

Here is the first card I made for VSN!!! The theme for this VSN is WELCOME TO THE CABARET. So all of the challenges will be related to the Cabaret. The first challenge I took was called A Chorus Line. The actual challenge is this: In honor of this spectacular musical number, my challenge is for you to make a card using a line of identical images – use at least three. The rest of the card is up to you! Use any colors, embellishments, or ribbons you like. Have fun!

For this card, I used the Stampin Up set called Say It With Scallops. I paired that with the Bella Rose designer series paper. The size of the card is 9 1/4" x 4". This card will fit in a business size envelope.

Thanks for stopping by and looking!!!

Belli Challenge #42 - Gift Tags

Good Wednesday morning!!! Its Wednesday and we all know this is Belli Challenge Day. This weeks Belli Challenge is Gift Tags!!! I have found I really LOVE to make gift tags. I really enjoyed this challenge.
Gifts tags can be as simple as you would like, to the more elaborate. Its just depends, Im sure, as to how much time you have and are willing to put into your gift tags. I have made a few different sets of gift tags to share with you today. I used some of my most favorite sets and I found, there are A LOT of sets that can be used as GREAT gift tag makers. I start off with my most basic tags and then more forward to the more elaborate. I also tried something I have been wanting to do and try and that is to move away from the most standard traditional colors for cards/tags to show you, it doesnt always have to be pink or blue for baby tags or red and green for christmas tags. My goal for these tags was to use the In-Colors from Stampin Up and always use my MOST favorite color, Chocolate Chip with them. I didnt finish with ALL of the In-Colors, but as I do, I will share them here with you. The majority of my gift cards are 3 x 3 in size. Just as long as you have some small envelopes (from Stampin Up's big catalog) laying around, you can make a 3 x 3 gift card anytime and with any color.
The first set of tags were made with Pacific Pointe and Chocolate Chip and the stamps from To You and Yours (my most favorite stamp set in the catalog!!!). Very basic, stamp and go.
The second set also uses Pacific Pointe and Chocolate Chip and the stamps are from Deer Friends. As you can see, still very basic, I just added Cuttlebug Embossing onto the top layer instead of using designer series paper. Still very cute and effective.
The next 3 pictures are made with Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss. The stamps I used were Punches Three with is a Level Two Hostess set. This stamp set was designed to work with the Scalloped Square punch and the Wide Oval punch. I love using punches in my art work and this is a great example of the punches and stamps that work great together.
The Scalloped gift tags are a more elaborate gift tag that I just had so much fun making. It is made with punches also. I used Bella's Bloom stamp set with these and designer paper from Bella Rose and a retired paper called East Coast Prep. I found a tutorial for the scalloped gift cards on Andrea Walfords blog. She is just an awesome lady with great tutorials. The tutorial can be found here: http://andreawalford.com/?p=594 . These scalloped gift cards also fit into the small envelopes used for the 3 x 3 gift cards.

SCS Color Challenge #191

Here is the card I made for this weeks Color Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.com. They called it Pretty Red Kisses. That stands for Pretty in Pink (I used Pink Pirouette in its place) Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. The designer paper is from the Bella Rose Collection. I just love that paper and Im also in love with Polka Dots lately, but dont tell Chocolate Chip, he may be a bit jealous if he knows Im in love with something else too. The base scalloped circle is the Big Shot Die Cut and then I used my circle punches and my Coluzzle for all the other layers. Thanks for stopping by and looking!!!! Leave a comment if you like it and make my day!!!

Lisa & I

I just wanted to share this picture of Lisa and I. Lisa has her pictures on her computer and uses them as her screen saver. I saw this and said, omg why have you not shared this with me? I love it!!! It looks like we are having fun (and we really were)!!! This picture was actually taken in the Biltmore Gardens on the Biltmore Estates in North Carolina in June of this year. Just a beautiful place to visit. It was really warm that day too. Gonna have to scrap this one soon!!

Belli Challenge #41 Thanksgiving/Christmas Table Decorations

Today is Wednesday and we all know that is Belli Challenge Day!!! The Challenge this week is to make any type of table decorations for a Thankgiving day or Christmas table top. I made a votive cover for a Christmas table. I used Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Cardstock Vellum and Basic Gray's Figgy Pudding papers. I used 12 x 12 Riding Hood Red paper and cut 2 strips at 3 1/4" x 12". I then scored at 3", 6" and 9". The middle fold should be a Mountain fold and the other 2 should be valley folds. Mountain = Stands Up, Valley Fold = fold away I used the 1 3/4" circle punch on the Riding Hood Red cardstock. Then layered a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock on the inside and punched it with the 1 3/8" circle punch. I then stamped the deer from Winter Post in Chocolate Chip ink onto the cardstock Vellum. I then punch the deer out with the 1 3/4" circle punch and layered in on the inside of the window. On the outside panels, I layered Baja Breeze cardstock cut to 3" x 2 7/8" and then Basic Grays Figgy Pudding Trees cut to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4". I then stacked Stampin Up's Felt Snowflakes and attached with a Blue Bling Brad. The words I stamped in Chocolate Chip are from Stampin Ups To You and Yours stamp set. I then taped together only the 2 outside panels.

Beate's WSC #64

I knew I wanted to take part in Beate's Weekend sketch sometime this weekend, so I finished just in time. Sunday evening at 11:00. Whewwwwww. What a great challenge this was lol.
I used one of my most favorite color combos and my MOST FAVORITE set in Stampin Up's big catalog, From Our House to Yours.

I started with Chocolate Chip cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 11". Then a piece of designer series paper from Ski Slope cut to 5 1/4" x 4". Then a Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Whisper White all layered 1/4" less for each layer. For the scallops, I used a piece of Riding Hood Red cut to 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" for each end. I did the Grid Technique on the top piece of Whisper White and then stamped snowflakes from Snow Burst in Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze. I used Riding Hood Red grosgrain ribbon to attach my circle piece too. I stamped the house from SU set From Our House to Yours on a piece of Whisper White c/s and then mounted that on Chocolate Chip c/s. I used the Linen thread to tye it to the ribbon. Then I stamped the words in Chocolate Chip onto Riding Hood Red and punched out with the Large Oval punch.

It's All about the hat!!!

Well, I finally did it!!!! I scrapbooked today!!! I have been wanting to scrap this picture for Halloween, so I finally did it today!!! This is one of my most favorite pictures of Kelsey as a baby. I always liked to sit them on the bathroom vanity with their feet in the sink and let them see themselves in the mirror. So one day, pulling out the Halloween decorations, Kelsey found this hat. So I put it on her and took her to see herself in the mirror. She thought she was a princess with it on, she loved it!!!
These are 6 x 6 pages and everything I wanted on the one page didnt fit, so I made it into a 2 page layout which turns out nice anyways. The witch I used if from Tag Time, a retired Stampin Up set and I just love her!!! Had to fit that into the layout!!! The circles that spell out Kelsey are Halloween brads I bought in the $1.00 bin at Archivers. Didnt know why I bought them, but they sure came in handy today!!! The other words are from a Cuttlebug Alphabet Set I have. The font name is Olivia. When I bought those, I too didnt know when I would use them, but they also came in handy today!!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!!! Make it a great day!!!
